Airports in Kiev

Today Ukraine has more than three dozen airports for large passenger and cargo transportation. Of these, 16 are international. But since the cost of air tickets in our country is considerable, only about ten air gates are actually operating.

Regular passenger flights are served by the airports of Kiev, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkov, Lvov, Odessa, Ivano-Frankivsk and Kherson. Some of the airports serve only charters (Poltava) or rare domestic flights (Chernivtsi). Ukraine also has its own Antonov cargo airfield, which is also a test airfield for Antonov Airlines, and Chaika airfield, where parachute jumps and pilot training are conducted.

Packing for the airport: useful tips

When packing for a trip, many people often make the mistake of leaving the packing and preparation for the flight to the last minute. So, in order not to have to frantically pack your bags and rush around the airport looking for the right gate, use a few simple tips.

  • Pack your bags in advance. Preferably 2-3 days before your flight. This way you will have enough time to take everything you need and check if you have forgotten anything.
  • Check-in online. Online check-in will save you not only time at the airport, but also money (since some airlines charge for printing tickets at the check-in desk), and you won't have to worry about being late for the check-in.
  • Arrive at the airport early. Ideally 2-3 hours before your flight. This way you will have enough time to check in, drop off your luggage and go through customs.

The lion's share of flights are operated from the capital, so let us tell you a little more about Kiev airports.
