Zoo
There is a small but very comfortable zoo in Dresden that your children will love. It is designed as a park, so you can relax there too.
Grossegarden Park
Another large park with ponds is close by, the Großegaarden is a wonderful place to relax with the kids in Dresden. There are a number of great options for leisure activities here. You can enjoy a walk, then try the delicious ice cream in the Karola Schlösschen Café, feed the ducks and swans in the pond and take a boat ride on the pond for the last time.
Dresden Botanical Garden
Another place to spend a day with children. This botanical garden was founded more than 200 years ago and in this time they have managed to plant many rare species of plants, make a tropical greenhouse and a whole pavilion with aquatic plants.
Hygiene Museum and Transportation Museum
The Hygiene Museum as well as the Transportation Museum may be of interest to older children - but if you've already decided to take a trip there you won't get bored. There really are a lot of interesting and rare exhibits in these museums.
Amusement Park
The small amusement park for children in Dresden is another great idea for family entertainment. There's a little railroad to take you to Moritzburg, an island in the middle of the lake. There is a wonderful castle on the island, and tame deer, elk, wild boar, roe deer and other animals live in the park around it.
