Ireland Attractions

We have collected the main attractions of Ireland - symbols that are inextricably associated with this country.

Ireland's rich historical past has left so many places of interest that it is simply impossible to tell you about them all. In this list we have only mentioned the main places of interest in Ireland, the names of which are the first to come to mind when the country is mentioned.

From among the descriptions of Ireland's attractions, castles have a special place:

Blarney Castle. Located 20 minutes from Cork. Famous for the "Blarney Magic Stone", which must be kissed for a wish to come true. Not an easy task, but tourists usually manage it.

Kilkenny Castle. The castle is now in the center of Kilkenny town. It was long owned by the Butler clan and, thanks to them, has survived to this day in excellent condition. It was built in the late 12th century and has been rebuilt several times in its history.

Dublin Castle. For a long time it was the seat of the British Crown, for which the castle is still fondly remembered. But in 1922 the castle was returned to Ireland and Dublin.

These are just a few of the vast number of Green Erin castles. But there are many other interesting places among the sights to see in Ireland.

Trinity College Dublin. One of Ireland's most famous educational institutions with a rich history.

Glendaloch. A glacial valley in County Wicklow in a monastery founded in the 6th century by St. Kevin.

O'Brien Watchtower. This majestic structure is located in County Clare and faces the Atlantic Ocean.

St. Patrick's Cathedralin Dublin. The cathedral was erected in the 12th century, on the site where legend has it that St. Patrick baptized Ireland. In the 18th century, the cathedral's rector was Jonathan Swift, author of "Gulliver's Adventures."

Pulnabron Dolmen. One of the Celtic cult structures preserved in County Clare.

Dublin Needle. Official name "Monument of Light". It is the tallest monument in the world, its height is 120 meters. It is especially visible at night, due to neon lighting.

Moher Cliffs. This 200-meter-high stone wall stretches for 8 kilometers along the coast of County Clare.
