Car rental in Tel Aviv

To rent a car, contact one of the rental firms - there are also international companies in the city, such as Avis, Hertz, Sixt or Budget, and local ones such as Eldan or Albar. You'll need to provide a driver's license (international or national plastic ID), passport and credit card to get a car.

Driving experience should be at least a year, the permissible age of the driver - at least 24 years old (otherwise you may be refused or asked to pay extra). When you hand over the car, you must record any damage or scratches on the car and add them to the contract.

Deposit-free car rental in Tel Aviv is not practiced, the amount of deposit depends on the class of car and on average ranges from 1900 to 4500 ILS.

Fuel is not included in this price (you must return the car with a full tank or you'll have to pay a fine).

The price of a mid-range car rental in Tel Aviv ranges from 150-250 ILS per day, per week from 1170 ILS (small car) to 5100 ILS (SUV).

If you rent a car at Ben Gurion Airport, the airport tax (about 40 ILS) will be included in the price. Payment is due at the end of the rental period.

Inexpensive car rental in Tel Aviv is available from October to April. Note that from July to August and during Jewish and Christian holidays, the rental period is a minimum of 7 days (if you return the car earlier, you will be charged between 450 and 930 ILS plus VAT for transportation).

In addition, if you delay the car for a couple of hours, you will have to pay an extra 50% of the daily rental amount.
