Livigno is a young but promising ski resort. In 2012, it was awarded the World Snow Award and recognized as the best in Europe, surpassing Kitzbühel, Saalbach-Hinterglemm, and Madonna di Campiglio. Its only significant drawback is its remoteness from major international airports, which makes the transfer time-consuming. Among its advantages, in addition to excellent slopes, Livigno is a duty-free zone. Here you can buy various goods at affordable prices, such as sports equipment.
Livigno comprises three villages, whose boundaries have gradually blurred over time: St. Antonio, St. Maria, and St. Rocco. The valley that runs through the resort divides it into two skiing areas: Carosello and Mottolino, which are connected by free ski buses. Mottolino is home to most of the challenging slopes and Italy's largest snow park, Mottolino Fun Mountain. Carosello, on the other hand, offers beginner-friendly slopes and facilities for children. Ski school offices can be found near the lift stations in both areas.
Night skiing takes place on Thursdays from 20:30 to 22:30. During this time, Lift No. 23 operates, and a separate ski pass is required to use it.
