Here is a sample list of dishes worth tasting when in Venice.

Cicchetti are small snacks served with wine or cocktails. Seafood appetizers are especially popular, as cuttlefish, oysters, octopus, and shrimp are all excellent here.

Venetian-style liver. This dish gets its delicate flavor from a long simmering with onions. Sometimes the liver is stewed, then fried, poured with white wine and waited until it evaporates. After all these actions, the dish is sprinkled with cheese, herbs and add cream.

  • semifreddo - soft creamy gelato.

In addition to ice cream, you can enjoy prune tortinos, cookies baicoli, pancakes with rice, honey and pumpkin filling, and tiramisu (Venice is the home of this famous dessert).

In Venice you will be offered a great choice of wines. For example red Valpolicella and Bardolino, white Soave and many others. Be sure to try the Bellini cocktail, which is made from peach puree and Prosecco wine. It was invented in Venice and is named after the famous artist.
