A tourist in Valencia can have a good time even on a very tight budget. There are places in the city that you won't be charged a dime to visit. So, where to go?

Old Town (Ciutat Vela)

Take a stroll through the streets, where everything breathes with history, be sure to check out its three magnificent squares - Plaza de la Virgen, Plaza de la Reina and Plaza del Ayuntamiento - and then visit the famous Mercat Central, one of the oldest food markets in Europe.

Get to know the beautiful Valencia, filled with sunshine, ancient legends and the flavors of paella, on a sightseeing tour. You will see hidden in the nooks and crannies sights, which are not written about in guidebooks, hear local legends and non-banal stories without dry facts and dates. You'll walk through the colorful Carmen neighborhood and find restaurants that tourists don't get to. After this rich walk, you'll be able to say that you've seen and tasted everything in Valencia!

Don't forget to visit Museo Taurino, a museum dedicated to the traditional Spanish entertainment - bullfighting. And if you want to know everything about Valencia, welcome to the Museo de Prehistoria. Here you will be told (and shown) the history of the city up to the times of the Roman Empire. Entrance to Museo Taurino and Museo de Prehistoria costs a symbolic €2.

You can spend the weekend exploring the beautiful: the Palacio del Marques de dos Aguas is free on Saturdays after 16:00 and Sunday morning. A stroll along Playa de la Malvarrosa or Playa de las Arenas will be a fitting end to the weekend .

Even if your tourist budget is limited, we advise you not to be greedy and to try real paella. After all, where else can you do it but in the homeland of the famous dish? In Valencia, for example, traditional paella is served at Casa Carmela at 155 Isabel de Villena.
