On Moroccan territory, only one national company, Royal Air Maroc, operates domestic flights. Its planes operate between the cities of Casablanca, Agadir, Dakhla, El Hoceima, Fez, Laayoune, Marrakech, Nador, Ouja, Rabat, and Tangier. A flight from Casablanca to Fez costs 50 USD one way, and from Tangier to Dakhla costs 150 USD. You will pay this price only if you buy a round-trip ticket. A one-way ticket will cost more. In general, air travel in Morocco loses out to rail travel in terms of price and convenience.
Rail transportation in Morocco is comfortable, and the trains are equipped according to modern requirements. The rail network connects the country's major cities: Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, Meknes, Marrakech, Oujda, El Jadida. The trains have first and second-class cars, seating, and sleeping cars (but sleeping cars only on the trains Tangier - Marrakech and Casablanca - Oujda). In terms of comfort, they are pretty much the same. But in the first class, you take seats according to the ticket, and in the second class, you just take any free seat. You can buy tickets both at the station and on the train from the conductor. But in the latter case, you will be charged a 10-20% surcharge.
The average train fare in Morocco:
Second class fare is 20-25% cheaper.
Morocco is known for its well-equipped train stations, especially in its major cities. The stations have ticket offices, luggage lockers, easy-to-understand timetables, information boards, a waiting room, and cafes. Train arrivals and departures are announced in Arabic and French. For details, visit the Moroccan railroad's website.
Bus services are available between Moroccan cities. The international buses are owned by several large companies, well-equipped and very comfortable. Morocco's main bus companies are CTM, STCR, and SupraTours. On their websites, you can check the bus schedules and choose a suitable flight. Apart from these companies, there are several others in Morocco. You can catch their buses at Casablanca's central bus station, Gare Routiere OUILED ZIANE.
Taxis in Morocco are traditionally of two types: petit cabs and grand cabs. Petit cabs run inside cities and are usually small cars for three passengers. In different cities of Morocco, the color of petit cabs is different. In Casablanca, the color of the cab is dark red, in Mohammedia it is lettuce, in Marrakesh it is beige. They are usually equipped with an identifying flag. The cost of boarding a cab is 1.4 MAD during the day, 2.4 at night. The total cost of a trip around the city rarely exceeds 30 MAD.
Grand cabs are more likely to make intercity trips, although they can be found in the city as well. The peculiarity of this cab is that it leaves only when loaded with at least six passengers. In this case, the cars are standard, designed for five with the driver. On the back seat sit four people, on the front passenger seat - two. For long journeys, it's best to refrain from this method of travel, as it's unlikely to be comfortable.
