When preparing for a trip to Bergen, you will definitely come across photos of colorful houses of original shape standing along the waterfront. This is the Bryggen quarter, where the city once began. Now this neighborhood is protected by UNESCO and is included in the list of World Heritage Sites. There is a museum of the Hanseatic League and the so-called "Schötstuene" - the halls of the Hanseatic assemblies.
The most interesting among the religious buildings are Korskirken Church (XVII century) and the Cathedral (XII century). Connoisseurs of classical music should visit Trollhaugen - the museum of the famous Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. On the territory there is a cliff, in which the crypt where Grieg and his wife are buried is cut out. Every year on June 15, a cycle of concerts begins here, which are held for 10 weeks.
Take a tour of Håkons Hall, a former royal residence built about 750 years ago. Nearby, on the grounds of Bergenhus Fortress, is the Rosenkrantz Tower, an interesting fortification, to the top of which you can climb a ladder.
If you have already seen the city and still have time left, go on a fjord cruise. Local companies offer tours for a few hours or a whole day.
