From cozy cottages styled like fisherman's huts to exciting fishing trips and rides on the Flom Railway, Bergen offers a wide range of activities for kids. However, Bergen's top attractions for children include:
- "Building" a gingerbread house near the Galleria shopping center;
- Massive Lego brick building on Torgallmenningen square;
- Meeting the residents of the aquarium on the Nordnes peninsula;
- Visiting the "Hill of Trolls" museum.
The Gingerbread House near the Galleria Shopping Center
If your trip to Bergen is scheduled for late November, make sure to visit the former DNB bank building near the Galleria shopping center, where the world's largest gingerbread house is displayed every year. Anyone in the city can participate in its "construction." Admission ticket prices are NOK 70 for adults, NOK 50 for teenagers and students, and free for children.
Aquarium on the Nordnes Peninsula
After a photo session against the backdrop of the gingerbread house, we recommend visiting the aquarium located on the Nordnes Peninsula, just a 10-minute walk from the Fish Market. In its 50 years of operation, the aquarium has expanded significantly and now features 60 aquariums with the largest collection of fish and invertebrates from the North Sea in Europe. It also houses crocodiles, snakes, lizards, seals, and penguins. The ticket price for adults varies from 150 NOK (in the "low" season) to 200 NOK (in the "high" season).
