Pastoruri is considered to be the only ski resort in Peru so far. It is part of the Huascaran mountain range, the maximum height of which rises to 6768 meters above sea level. The poorly developed infrastructure of this place does not make it possible to make ski tours to Peru very popular.
Until recently, the Peruvian authorities were not going to invest in the development of ski resorts in Peru at all. Fans of snowy slopes to get to this resort had to make a three-hour car trip to an altitude of 4,800 meters and then walk for about an hour over bumpy snowy terrain.
In order to increase the accessibility of ski vacation in Peru, the authorities have recently decided to build a new cable car to the resort. About 30 million PEN has been invested in this project. Despite the fact that skiing Peru is beginning to gradually develop, only experienced skiers and desperate extremists who are not afraid of difficulties will be able to venture on such a vacation in the country. The best period when you should go on a ski vacation in Peru is December - February.
