Gdansk Review

Gdańsk has seen and experienced many things: capture by the Teutons and annexation to Germany, return to Poland and withdrawal to Prussia after the partition of Poland. It was conquered by the French, survived devastating sieges, reverted to Prussia, gained and lost the status of a free city, was called either Gdańsk or Danzig.

After the Second World War the city regained its historic name and for the last 70 years it has been part of Poland.
