Negombo's sub-equatorial climate has the power to enchant every warm-hearted tourist. It remains warm throughout the year, often becoming very hot. Even at night, the temperature seldom drops below +25°C. However, the resort experiences distinct high and low seasons. The high season is marked by moderately warm weather and minimal precipitation, occurring from December to March. The low season commences with the onset of rainy periods in Negombo.
Primarily, the low season begins in April, marking the end of the high season. During this time, afternoons often surprise with extended tropical downpours. When the rain subsides and the sun reappears, the heat can be intense, with temperatures soaring up to +35°C. Rainy seasons in Negombo also occur during the autumn months, with October being the peak period for rainfall.
