Arosa's unique microclimate, characterized by sunny and windless conditions most of the time, makes it an ideal destination for families. While parents are hitting the ski slopes, which offer a total of 225 kilometers (when considering neighboring Lenzerheide), children can learn winter sports with experienced instructors at the Alpine Club Mickey Mouse. Additionally, Arosa features dedicated sledding slopes (Arosa - Litziruti, Pratschli - Obersee, Tschuggenhutte - Grand Hotel Tschuggen) and two ice rinks. For beginners, there are easy slopes around the Tschuggen summit and along the Plattenhorn chairlift. Experienced skiers can opt for the slopes with Hornli, accessible from Arosa via a gondola. The most challenging slopes are found on the Weisshorn mountain, which stands at an elevation of 2,653 meters. At an altitude of 2,050 meters, there's a snow park where the World Cup snowboarding finals took place in 2011. Off-piste skiing enthusiasts can venture to Bruggerhorn (2,447 meters), accessible via a chairlift. In Arosa, you can also try your hand at curling, enjoy horse racing on the frozen surface of Lake Obersee, and take leisurely walks in the picturesque surroundings to soak in the breathtaking views.
