The main and most popular pastime of Gstaad was and still is skiing. A map of the ski slopes in Gstaad shows that there are many excellent ski slopes in the surrounding area, which are divided into six sectors.
In addition to Gstaad, the ski area also includes Saanen, Schönried, Saanenmöser, Rougemont, Zweisimmen, and Chateau de l'Eau. There are two main ski areas in the immediate vicinity of the resort, Wispil and Eggly.
For those who have never stood on skis before, there are plenty of flat pistes that are over 100km long. Vispil also has a separate ski slope designed especially for beginners. Eggley has slopes that reach up to 2000 meters in altitude.
All Swiss ski resorts on the map have a unified system of designations, markings, and signs. The total length of the ski resorts on the map, together with the adjacent regions, extends over 250 kilometers, and all the pistes in Gstaad are 85 kilometers long.
