Basic information about Las Vegas

Las Vegas is nestled amidst the majestic mountains and beautiful canyons of the planet, in the Mojave Desert, in the western United States. The city has a population of about 600,000, with most residents employed in one way or another in the entertainment and tourism industries.

Las Vegas was founded in the first half of the XIX century as a transshipment station on the site of an oasis discovered in the desert, and received the status of a city a little over a hundred years ago. The development of Las Vegas as a gambling center began in the 1930-1940s, when the state allowed gambling, and the construction of the Hoover Dam solved the issues of water and power supply to the city.

Since then and until today Vegas for the whole world is the embodiment of gambling extravaganza, bright emotions and crazy drive.
