Vietnam's customs regulations are not particularly unique, but violating them can be punished very severely.
Unauthorized importation of narcotics in Vietnam can even result in execution. And citizenship of another country will be no escape.
What you can bring into Vietnam on an airplane
- Foreign currency. You can bring any amount of euros, dollars or your local currency, there will be no claims against you. However, any amount that exceeds 3000 USD, it is better to declare to avoid problems at the exit from the country.
- Tobacco. Vietnam is tolerant of avid smokers. You can freely carry up to 400 cigarettes or up to 100 cigars in your luggage. Or 500 grams of tobacco. However, you will have to choose one or the other, or just do not reach the upper limit on tobacco stocks.
- Tea and coffee. 5 kg of tea and 3 kg of coffee - this is the amount of raw materials for flavored drinks you can take with you in Vietnam.
- Parfumery. As much as you need for yourself. Customs officials should not get the feeling that you plan to open a perfume shop upon arrival. So it is better to limit yourself to one bottle.
- Personal effects. The total value of your luggage should not exceed 50000000000 VND (226 USD).
- Machinery. You can bring any equipment you want, but be sure to enter it in the declaration.
