National dishes of the Bahamas
To experience the national cuisine of the Bahamas, you don't have to visit expensive restaurants. Many traditional dishes have been borrowed from American, Caribbean, European and African cuisines. However, all of them have been adapted to local living conditions. As a result, the traditional cuisine of the Bahamas has evolved.
The traditional delicacy of the Bahamas is the sea clam "konk", which is used to prepare not only first courses, but also main courses, salads and appetizers. The most expensive dish in the Balkan Islands is considered to be spiny lobster. However, it can be eaten only from April to August, when fishing is allowed.
