Central Region of the Bahamas
The northern region of the Bahamas is equally popular with tourists. It includes large islands such as Grand Bahama and Grand Abaco, as well as many smaller islands.
Grand Bahama is the northernmost island in the archipelago. Tourists are attracted here not only by its white sandy beaches, but also by its largest underwater cave system and three national parks.
Grand Abaco is the second largest island in the Bahamas. It not only offers fishing and active water activities but also great shopping in the town of Marsh Harbour.
The southern region of the Bahamas is represented by the islands of Inaguas, Mayaguana, Acklins, and Crooked. The tourist industry in them is not as intensely developed as in the other two areas, but it is also possible to enjoy beach vacations and water activities on their territory. Regardless of the region's name, the Bahamas is a paradise destination that attracts tourists from all corners of the globe.
Each region of the Bahamas has its own central city. For example, in the central part of the country, the capital city is Nassau; in the northern region, Freeport is a must-see; and in the south, Matiu Town is a must-see.
