There are only two airports near Paraty, one in São Paulo and the other in Rio de Janeiro. Getting to Paraty from Rio de Janeiro is easier and quicker, as it's just over 250 kilometers away. The airport in Rio de Janeiro is known as Galeão International Airport, or Antonio Carlos Jobin Airport, and it consists of two terminals.

From Rio de Janeiro to the airport, the number 2018 bus, which runs every half hour (between 05:30 and 22:30 hours), is available by cab. The bus goes from Galeão Airport to the central bus station in downtown Rio de Janeiro, to Santos Dumont Airport, and to the southern parts of Rio along the coast, terminating at the Alvorada bus station in BarradaTijuca. Bus service ticket counters are located in the arrivals area of both airport terminals.
The airport is located 20 km north of the center of Rio de Janeiro, on Governor's Island. It's not the only airport near the city. But the second, Santos Dumont, is more for Brazilian domestic flights.
