One of Opatija's most famous attractions is the luxurious Lungomar promenade, which stretches for 12 kilometers along the city's entire coastline. All of Opatija's itineraries start and end here, because this is where all the life of the resort is centered.
Walking routes in Opatija can be started from the old town center, where the very first hotel of the resort "Kvarner" is located. You can walk down to the sea and stroll along Lungomar. Restaurants, souvenir stores and stores are so densely packed here that it's hard to distinguish between walking and shopping.
Opatija's main tourist route also runs along Lungomare, from the suburb of Lovran to the outskirts of Rijeka.
