The fauna of Rabac is less diverse. In the coastal areas you can find unhurried turtles, in the forests there are partridges, grouse, more than a dozen species of woodpeckers. The island of Cres, the closest to Rabac, is home to the rare white-headed vulture eagle. There are practically no dangerous animals in Rabac. The few steppe areas and the foothills are home to lizards and snakes, which is something to keep in mind when hiking to Labin, for example.
