Water temperature in Larnaca
Summer water temperatures in the Mediterranean Sea range from +23°C in June to +26°C in August. You can swim as early as May (+20°C) and in the fall the Mediterranean Sea continues to be comfortable until November (+21°C). The sea in the Larnaca area warms up very well due to the shallow waters.
The tides are not as pronounced as on the oceanic coast, but they are still noticeable: at low tide the water recedes a few tens of centimeters from the shore, and at high tide it often brings pebbles to the shore, which make it difficult to enter the sea.
But many parts of the coastline are fenced off with breakwaters that soften the force of the Mediterranean waves, making the beaches ideal for safe vacations with children.
