According to customs rules, from what you can carry duty free to Finland by airplane, you can mention goods for personal use, except alcohol, tobacco products and fuel, if the total value per person does not exceed 430 EUR (if you travel by train, the amount drops to 300 EUR).

How much alcohol can be brought into Finland:

  • 4 liters of non-sparkling wine (red wine, white wine, rose wine) and 16 liters of beer
  • 1 liter of hard liquor or spirits (more than 22%)
  • 2 liters of spirits or alcoholic beverages (22%), aperitifs, vermouth, bitters, liqueurs, sherries, long drink, cider and champagne
  • cider and "long drink" cannot be matched with beer
  • Alcoholic beverages brought in by a passenger at one time may
    be different types of beverages, but their combined quantity must not exceed the permitted limit. Duty-free and tax-free, 0.5 liters of spirits and 1 liter of aperitifs may be imported.

In addition, you can import 200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos or 50 cigars or 250 grams of pipe and cigarette tobacco.

Customs has set age and time limits for importing alcohol. These can be found on the Finland Customs Service's website. You can bring 50 ml of cologne or 250 ml of toilet water into Finland. Prescription, over-the-counter and homeopathic medicines are allowed in quantities for a three-month period of consumption, provided you have a doctor's prescription or an extract from your medical history.

The following are prohibited to bring into Finland any drugs or medicines containing narcotic drugs. To avoid problems with Finnish customs, you should get a separate import authorization for such drugs.
