Dortmund Airport is a key transportation hub in Germany, handling around 2.9 million passengers annually. For a long time it was focused exclusively on regional flights, but in 2004 it received a new development strategy, allowing international transportation. Currently, the airport serves more than 20 airlines, including low-costers Wizz Air and Ryanair.
The air terminal is equipped with 1 runway with asphalt surface to accommodate different types of aircraft. It is located 10 km from the city center of Dortmund, which provides excellent transport accessibility.
On the territory of the air terminal there is 1 passenger terminal. It is a modern two-storey building. On its first floor there are check-in and baggage claim areas, and on the second floor there are waiting and boarding areas. There are 28 counters in the terminal, allowing for efficient passenger service. It is open daily from 3:30 a.m. to midnight.

If you choose "Nachtlichter", you can enjoy a night tour of the air terminal, the highlight of which is a ride on the runway. Each tour lasts about an hour and a half.
