Arkashon's main attractions

When you go sightseeing in Arkashon, make sure you have a booklet with their descriptions in Russian. The most famous places you'll need to visit are the Moorish Park, the city's casino in the Degan Mansion, the St. Cecilia Observatory, and the Chapel of St. Virgin of Arcachon. The most amazing and remarkable place in the city that leaves no one indifferent is the Arkashon's harbor, the city's promenade that begs for pictures and postcards, as well as the port with a huge variety of yachts and boats.

No description of Arcachon’s attractions is complete without mentioning its natural wonder — the Dune of Pilat, the largest sand dune in Europe. Located just 6 km from the town, this giant sandy mountain rises 130 meters high and stretches for more than 3 km, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world each year. What makes it unique is that this ever-moving dune, shaped by winds and tides, stands right at the edge of a pine forest. A trip to the Dune of Pilat is often referred to as a “walk into the Sahara.”
