The ski slopes in Meribel are considered the most suitable for confident downhill skiing. All the slopes are really wide and, when snow is available, quite flat. This ski resort is not only good for the intermediate skier, but expert skiers will also have a lot of fun riding fast on the numerous red runs.
If you are a fan of extreme skiing, the Three Valleys resort will not disappoint you either: the Bartavelle piste, the steep Tetras and La Face slopes are the domain of the advanced skier. Le Grand Couloir is not to be forgotten, but we recommend saving the best for the end rather than tackling it on your first day here.
It's hard to find a ski resort more suited to skillful intermediate slope skiers than Méribel. The best ski runs in Meribel with blue or red markings are: Combe de Vallon, Jerusalem and Pramint.
Meribel is an excellent resort for beginner skiers as well. The ski schools here are of a very high standard, and the green runs in the Altiport area are perfect, with easy access and excellent length and width. Once you feel confident, you can move on to the Zen slopes and Ski Cool area, where you can improve your technique in peace and quiet.
Meribel has fully embraced the snowboarding and freestyle culture and offers excellent parks. A special mention must be made of Meribel's ski slopes in Zone 43. Moon Park is no less remarkable. Meribel also offers its young guests the opportunity to learn snowboarding. The Acticross park was built especially for children snowboarders.
If you are a fan of flat slopes, Meribel has several pistes in a 33 km zone that are specially designed for such skiing. Part of the piste runs through the forest part of the valley in the Altiport area. Lovers of off-piste skiing will definitely like the Loze slope, which is located above Altiport. Its steepness and snow thickness will satisfy even experienced skiers.
The length of all the slopes in Meribel reaches 150 km, with a 5 km ski run considered to be the most extensive. Even in snowy winters, Meribel will have excellent ski slopes for skiing, as 520 snowmaking machines have been installed around the resort and 20 snow-compacting machines are in constant operation.
