The main activities in Saint-Tropez are related to the sea. These are yachting, sailing, diving, snorkeling and, of course, beach vacations. Other popular sports are golf, polo, tennis and croquet. A schedule of cultural events and festivities to be celebrated this year can be found on the city's website.
A must-do is an evening promenade along the Saint-Tropez promenade, where artists gather at sunset. Once it's dark and the painters have packed up their easels and brushes, it's best to head to the neighboring town of Saint-Maxime for nightlife.
After a noisy promenade on the dance floors you can meet the dawn in the "French Venice" - the port of Grimaud, where boats depart from the port of Saint-Tropez in the early morning. Having sailed along the canals-streets, enjoying the truly Venetian color, you should stop at one of the cafes on the XVIII century square and cheer up with a cup of strong coffee.
After having an Italian breakfast in the port of Grimaud, it is most convenient to go to the village of Cogolin, which is just on the way. People come here for the unique handmade smoking pipes made of Mediterranean heather and carpets worthy of the halls of the Elysee Palace.
In Saint-Tropez itself, the nightlife is concentrated in the coastal areas of the city. Some nightclubs in Saint-Tropez stay open until dawn, while others close around 00:00–01:00. The most popular nightclubs in town offer entertainment for adults:
Café de Paris (15, quai Suffren) — on its open terrace or luxurious red sofas, you can often spot visiting celebrities.
The dance club L'Esquinade (2, rue du Four) — popular not only among tourists but also among locals.
The youth club La Bodega de Papagayo (quai d'Epi, Résidence du Port) — featuring both a bar and a dance floor.
The stylish café-bar Octave Café (place de la Garonne) — a favorite among tourists in search of “something different.”
