Hévíz Spa

Modern Hévíz is a unique resort with the largest thermal lake where you can enjoy good health. Lake Hévíz is considered unique not only for its size and location, but also for its unusual chemical composition. The springs that feed the spa are located in a subzero cave with a diameter of 18 meters.

The lake itself is shaped like a funnel with a depth of 2 meters. On its surface, there are two thermal springs. One has a temperature of +42°C and the other +38°C. In this natural spa resort of Hévíz, even in winter, the water temperature does not fall below +26°C. Another interesting fact about this place is that the lake is completely renewed in 28 hours. It is due to the constant stirring that the water in the lake stays constantly warm.

To speak of Hévíz exclusively as a spa town is not a good idea. In addition to therapeutic procedures, there are various health, recreational, and spa services in Hévíz. There are many restaurants, bars, cafes, and pastry shops in the town, allowing guests to enjoy a variety of Hungarian dishes and drinks.

Now the Hévíz State Spa Center operates on the shores of the lake, with many of its departments dating back more than 200 years. In addition to therapeutic bathing, the thermal water from these areas is used extensively for drinking. The peat mud that covers the bottom of the lake is also widely used in therapeutic and cosmetic procedures.
