"Keflavik" is Reykjavik's international airport and is the main airport in Iceland. The airport terminal is very comfortable and modern. It is located 50 kilometers from the capital.
How to get to the city center
From the airport to the city center, you have several transportation options: bus, transfer, taxi, or car rental. By car, you can reach the city in half an hour.
Public transportation
There are buses from the airport terminal to Reykjavik. They are very comfortable and rarely crowded. Transportation will get you into the city quickly, especially since the roads in Iceland are perfectly smooth.

Bus
White buses with blue and yellow Flybus lettering run from the airport terminal. There is free internet in the cabin. The bus runs to the central bus station.
- Time of operation: from 04:45 to 22:15 every 35 to 40 minutes. The bus arrival time is indicated on the scoreboard in the arrival hall.
- Fare: 25 EUR. If you buy a round-trip ticket, the cost will be 46 EUR.
Bus - Shuttle
An orange-colored shuttle from Airport Direct runs to the Skógarhlíð, 10 stop in the city center. The bus has free internet and phone chargers. It stops in the town of Koupavogyur along the way.

- Fare: 24 EUR to the terminus. Children's tickets (up to 13 years old) cost 12 EUR.
City Bus N°55
A city bus runs every hour from the airport to the Umferðarmiðstöðin station (near the bus station).

Transfer
For those who don't want to look for a cab or wait for a bus, a good option is a shuttle. This is a comfortable way to get to the city - the driver will be waiting for you at the airport with a nameplate. You can book a transfer on the KiwiTaxi website.

The taxi stand is located next to the terminal exit.

Rent a Car
The prices for travel in Iceland are far from budget-friendly, so if you are traveling with your family or a group, renting a car can be cost-effective. It also allows you to explore all the most beautiful natural places in the country.

Tips for Renting a Car
- Iceland has speed limits: asphalt - 90 km/hour, gravel - 80 km/hour, city roads - 50 km/hour.
- It is forbidden to drive off-road, and it is also not advisable to break traffic rules - fines can reach several thousand euros.
- Slow down as much as possible when leaving the tarmac for gravel.
- Passengers are required to wear seat belts.
- Drive with headlights on.
- If the road is icy, it's best to rent a car with a manual transmission.
- There are plenty of gas stations on the road, and you can pay by card.
