Denpasar's vegetation and animal life

The vegetation in Denpasar is very diverse. Here you can find rare species of plants, huge age-old trees, which are under protection. The main mass is represented by the families of ficus, fig and banana groves. Banana palms in Bali are a sacred plant, as they feed many animals, including monkeys, squirrels and bats. Bamboo trees can also be found almost everywhere in Denpasar. It is used by the Balinese as their main building material.

As for Denpasar's animal life, you can meet cheerful monkeys, parrots, buy a small owl, a turtle and even a hedgehog. The cave crab, which also resides here, is listed in the world's "Red Book".
