Gallipoli's beaches

An overview of Gallipoli's beaches: we'll tell you which one is best.

What wouldn't be a resort without wonderful white-sand beaches to spend most of your holiday on. The Italian coastline will delight travellers with several beaches in Gallipoli, so there's plenty to choose from. Those who are not new to the resort claim that the best beaches in Gallipoli are on the southern coast.

Let's take a closer look and decide which is the best beach in Gallipoli. For example, the most famous one is Riviera Sauro. A small but cozy piece of sea with a gentle entry to the water. The main drawback is that it is extremely famous and popular, so it is advised to go to Baia Verde in July and August. Located 3km from the town, the beach's name translates as Green Cove and its coastline resembles the Caribbean islands.

Following on from Baia Verde is another beach, a string of many kilometres of white sand beach area. The neighbouring beach of Punta Suino is renowned amongst the world's stars.

Gallipoli beach

Travellers who prefer a 'wilderness' holiday will appreciate the unimproved and sparsely populated beach: Torre Pizzo. The disadvantage of this place is the distance from the resort of Gallipoli itself: the beach is 12 km from the town.

Tourists who like to relax in comfort can head closer to the cape of Punta Pizzo. It's an area of organized and paid beaches with turquoise water, and gorgeous views of the historic part of the resort. One such spot is Lido Pizzo.

There are also some nice stretches of coast in the north of the resort: Rivabella, Padula Bianca and Lido di Conquiglia. This is not a complete list of great beaches for a great time. If proximity to Galliopili is not important and you travel by car or other means of transport, the area (about 40-50 km) still has plenty of beautiful white sandy beaches with clear water.
