The Sestriere ski resort offers not only challenging but also very exciting slopes. Four vast skiing areas span over 400 km in total. There are also 50 km of cross-country trails.
One third of all slopes are designed for beginners, while another half is intended for skiers with some experience on snowy slopes. 20% of the total number of slopes are meant for advanced and extreme skiers. The longest ski run reaches 5 km in length and is considered the most extensive. Additionally, all ski slopes in Sestriere remain in excellent condition throughout the season, are well-marked, and are properly fenced off.
The official opening of the ski season in Sestriere begins on December 1st, when the snow cover reaches optimal density. Typically, the resort does not require artificial snow, as it is located at an altitude between 1800 and 2800 meters above sea level.
Snowboarders in Sestriere won’t be bored either — there is a full snow park on the resort grounds. For professional skiers, there are slopes that descend from the peaks of Sises and Motta. Intermediate skiers can enjoy the runs that stretch across the plateau between Borgata and Banchetta. A large number of easy slopes can be found on the lower part of the resort.
