The ski resort of Sestriere has not only challenging but also very interesting slopes. The four huge ski areas are over 400 km long. There are also flat slopes, with a length of 50 km.
One third of the slopes are aimed at beginners, and half of them are for skiers who are experienced in dealing with snowy slopes. 20% of the total number of slopes are for advanced and experienced skiers. The 5 kilometre-long ski slope is considered the longest in the world. In addition, all of Sestriere's ski slopes are in excellent condition throughout the season, are marked in detail and are fenced in a special way.
The official opening of the ski season in Sestriere begins on 1 December, when the snow cover reaches optimum density. Usually the ski resort does without additional artificial snow, as the resort is located at an altitude difference of 1,800 to 2,800 metres above sea level.
Snowboarders in Sestriere won't get bored either, as an entire snow park has been built for them at the ski area. Especially for professional skiers, Sestriere has ski slopes that start at Sizes and Mota. Intermediate skiers can enjoy the ski slopes of Sestriere on the plateau between Borgata and Banketta. A huge number of easy runs can be found directly on the lower slope of the resort.
