Make your trip truly unforgettable by setting aside all the tourist brochures and creating your own unique walking route through Taormina. Start your journey on the main street that begins at Bazaar Square. There you'll find the Cathedral and a beautiful fountain, with a symbol of the city perched on top, either a centaur or a man with the head of a bull.
You can continue your route through Taormina at the Piazza IX Aprile. Against the backdrop of the imposing mountain cliffs, you'll find the former church of San Giuseppe, which now houses a library. Nearby, slightly off to the side, you'll find the Roman Odeon.
A separate part of your walk through Taormina should be dedicated to Villa Comunale, a magnificent park filled with exotic flowers and trees. Inspired by the East, Florence Trevelyan created this garden entirely according to her own taste.
In the vicinity of the city, about 4 km from the medieval part of the resort, you can embark on an exciting tourist route to the village of Castelmola. Visiting here is worthwhile not only for the breathtaking view of the azure sea but also to see the local landmarks. A real castle, which provided shelter to the local inhabitants from raids, is still preserved here. You'll also find the Cathedral of San Nicola di Bari, built back in the 17th century.
