In the vicinity of the modern capital of Mexico, the first tribes of Aztec Indians appeared in the early 13th century. According to legend, the Sun God Huitzilopochtli showed them the way. Thus, in 1325, one of the most majestic and mysterious cities of antiquity - Tenochtitlan - appeared. In 1521, after ruthlessly destroying the rich Indian metropolis, the Spanish conquistadors founded Mexico City, which became the capital of the colony of New Spain.
Since then, the city's development has been predetermined by its unique position and the financial ties established when the North American Free Trade Agreement was signed.
