Climate in Becici

The Budva Riviera occupies a rather narrow strip of land in the southern part of Montenegro between the sea and the mountains. Thanks to the protection of the mountain range, the nature and climate of Becici differs significantly from the temperate continental climate of the northern part of the country. A large number of sunny days, mild short winters, long hot summers - these are the main features of the climate of Becici, which belongs to the Mediterranean type.

Average air temperature in Becici in summer is +25-28°C, and in winter the thermometer rarely drops below +12°C. Even in the cold season, Montenegrin visitors can enjoy a healthy vacation: the local climate is beneficial to the respiratory system, promotes gentle hardening and literally cures depression. However, from November in Becici begins the rainy season, which lasts all winter: at this time precipitation in one form or another falls almost half of the days of each month until mid-spring.

Bečići's vegetation and fauna

Bečići's lush vegetation ensures a pleasant coolness even on the hottest summer days. Cypresses, palms, agaves, pines and acacias line the streets, a variety of trees and shrubs bloom lushly, and the hotel gardens are full of citrus, grapes, figs, pomegranates and almonds. The coastal cliffs are covered with the evergreen thorny shrub Maquis, the mountains are dominated by spruce, beech, fir and elm trees and the valleys are lined with vineyards, olive groves and fruit groves.

The animal world of Becici is not rich, large wild animals (wild boars, wolves, foxes, bears, hares, deer, chamois) prefer mountain forests or nearby valleys. Outside the city you can find small animals like badger or gopher. But the clear waters of the Adriatic are home to many species of fish and marine animals, which can be seen simply by relaxing on the beaches.
