History of the Village of Becici
The settlement on the site of modern Becici was founded around the same time as ancient people began to inhabit the vicinity of Budva, more than two and a half millennia ago. Becici began its development as a resort in the first half of the twentieth century. In 1935, the beaches here were recognized as the best in Europe: a jury in Paris praised the natural beauty of the open bay with its clear turquoise waters and easy access to the picturesque coastline, covered with the finest pebbles.
Following the breakup of Yugoslavia and Montenegro's subsequent separation from Serbia, the local resort infrastructure underwent significant transformation. In Becici, you'll find a juxtaposition of reconstructed Soviet-era hotels with tranquil villas, modern hotels, and comfortable apartments.
