Portugal's continental Mediterranean climate varies considerably from north to south. Temperatures in different regions of the country range from +8-18°C in winter and +16-35°C in summer. Compared to Carvoeiro the cities in the north have a cooler climate with lower temperatures and more rainfall. In the southern province of Algavre, thanks to the influence of the Mediterranean Sea, winters are short, windy and dry, while summers are hot.
One of the most beautiful natural areas around Carvoeiro are the unusual rock formations created by erosion. The cliff tops of Carvoeiro are a must-see. It is here that you can enjoy breathtaking views of the city, the ocean and the surrounding natural scenery. Also, the Carvoeiro area is interesting for the presence of sea caves in the cliff near the Cabo de Carvoeiro lighthouse, which can be seen in the video Carvoeiro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHwHlLWv0yY. Making a walk in the area of the cliff it is necessary to adhere to safety rules, although all problem areas here are fenced.

The coastal area of the resort is home to many species of flora and fauna, particularly birds. Carvoeiro's vegetation includes all kinds of pine and oak trees, cork trees, lemons, grapefruit, orange, fig and almond trees, carob trees, chestnuts and eucalyptus trees. The town is surrounded by agricultural land and natural green areas.
The woodlands are home to lynx, weasels, wild goats, foxes, badgers, ferrets, forest cats, hares, mongooses and other mammals. In addition, the adjacent marshy areas of the Alvor estuary are home to about 600 species of migratory birds traveling from Europe to Africa.
