The Seychelles legislature has enacted a wonderful law allowing everyone to enjoy free and unrestricted access to any beach, including those in front of hotels. Praslin boasts beautiful beaches that can be found almost all around the island, despite its relatively small size of 11 by 4 kilometers.
The Beaches of Côte d'Or, Anse Lazio, and Anse Georgette
The finest beaches in Praslin are located in the northwestern part of the island. These include the renowned "Gold Coast" Côte d'Or (also known as Anse Volbert) and Anse Lazio. The ocean access here is not hindered by a coral reef, although waves can be noticeable. These spots are popular with visitors from the capital island of Mahé, especially on weekends. The nearby wild beach of Anse Georgette is equally famous.
Anse Marie-Louise and Anse Consolacion
When you're deciding which beach to visit on Praslin, consider checking out Anse Marie Louise located on the eastern side of the island. During high tide, a natural salt pool forms on the shore within a sandy fringe.
If you prefer privacy, there's another lovely beach on the eastern side of Praslin called Anse Consolacion.
Grand Anse Cove
Grand Anse Cove is more for those who like to sunbathe. Here the coral comes right up to the shore and can be covered in algae. Swimming is uncomfortable and simply dangerous, you can get hurt.
Ans Kerlan Cove
Ans Kerlan Cove and Beach is decorated with coconuts and evergreen shrubs, and is shielded from winds and storms by two cliffs. It's a very small beach and belongs to one of the island's hotels, the Lemuria Resort.
And remember, you can walk to almost all of the island's beaches in a day, sampling each one on your own.
