Attractions on Phi Phi Island

Phi Phi Phi Island viewpoints where you can see the incredible beauty of the archipelago, nature and beaches.

You won't find sights of cultural or historical value throughout Phi Phi Islands. But there are beaches, viewpoints, and the incredible beauty of the archipelago.

Viewpoints in Phi Phi Islands

The observation decks are perhaps the highlight of Phi Phi Islands. They offer a bird's eye view of the archipelago, and the panoramic views are mesmerizing and provide the perfect backdrop for memorable photos.

Best Times to Visit: The observation decks are available 24 hours a day. However, we recommend visiting them at sunset or sunrise.

Viewpoint #1

This is the lowest in height observation deck. It starts from Harmony House Guesthouse, or rather from the steps next to it. It takes only 5 minutes to reach the top. On the way, you will pass Phi Phi Arboreal Resort as a reference point. From there, it takes 2 minutes to reach the site. At the top, you have a view of Lo Dalum Beach and the nearby infrastructure.

  • The cost of admission is 20 THB, and the money is used to maintain cleanliness.

  • There are several huts built on the site where you can stay, and there is also a massage parlor on the mountain.

Viewpoint #2

The second observation deck takes the palm in terms of visits. From the top, there is a marvelous view of Tonsai Village and Phi Phi Don Island in general. A half-meter wide paved path leads to the top of the observation deck.

  • When to visit: In the evening, there's a real clash here. At dawn, on the other hand, there's hardly anyone around.

  • On the mountain, you can grab a drink and a bite to eat at a Restaurant.

How to Get There

There are several routes to get to the second observation deck.

From Tonsai Village:

From Harmony House Guesthouse, follow the signs and walk through the central part of the village. Walking up the steps through the Phi Phi Arboreal Resort hotel, you'll reach the first site. After paying the entrance fee, go higher. After 7 minutes, you'll be at the site.

From the Valentine Bungalow Hotel:

Predominantly tourists choose this route, which starts behind the Valentine Bungalow Guesthouse. You'll recognize it by the dozen yellow one-story houses. They line the road.

After passing the last lodge, turn left onto the wide paved highway. Beyond the island's only quad bike and motorcycle rental center, the road goes sharply uphill. On the left side will be an artificial reservoir and a boxing ring. After walking for another 15 minutes, you will come across a sign with directions. You need to turn left towards the forest and a small Thai settlement. Following the signs, after 5 minutes turn left again. After a minute, you will reach your destination.

Viewpoint #3

The third viewpoint lies within a 10-minute walk from the second. A huge tower will serve as a reference point.

  • At the halfway point, there is a bar with a TV and Thai huts.

  • A small gazebo with a hammock and a massage parlor are built on the hill. It's not crowded.

Tip: The main thing is to leave before dark or you may encounter snakes.

The Observation Deck Near the Reservoir

Not all vacationers know about its existence. From the heights of the platform, you can see the view of the artificial lake. There are no buildings here, only big blue water tanks.

How to Get There

From Tonsai Pier and the Central Part of the Island

In the center, a pathway starts up behind the yellow bungalows of the Valentine Bungalow hotel complex. You can navigate by the motorcycle rental center. As you climb up, you'll come across the sign we wrote about above (in the "how to get to the second site" block). But this time, turn right to the paved highway. After 15 minutes, an artificial reservoir will come into view. Take the right side, stepping uphill, and you'll find yourself at the site.

From Lo Mo Di Beach

Moving past the palm grove, head up the path. It will lead you to a signpost, after which head to the right-hand side. The way ahead is described above.

From the Shore of Long Beach

A narrow path with rope handrails starts on the west side of the beach. Once at the fork, keep to the right. The path is a single track, so there should be no confusion. When you reach the house, continue uphill and keep right.

Despite the lack of temples or other complexes, Phi Phi Islands are popular with tourists. There are plenty of beautiful beaches and beautiful places to see from the viewpoints.
