Probably the best advice to tourists about transportation in Abu Dhabi is to travel by cab. A trip is unlikely to cost more than 10 AED wherever you go.
In general, Abu Dhabi's transportation prices are low (2-3 AED for a bus ride), but if you have an international driver's license, it's best to rent a car from one of the city's many rental services.
