City transportation
The most popular transportation in Jumeirah is cabs. They operate around the clock, and many services have 'ladies' cars driven by ladies. A ride around the city costs around 50 AED.
Jumeirah's public transportation is automated metro (price depends on the number of rides) and buses (2-6 AED depending on the route, buses can take you far beyond Jumeirah. The price of a day pass on this transportation is 16 AED).
There are wonderful water cabs waiting at the hotel piers.
If you plan to use public transportation extensively outside Jumeirah, here's a tip from seasoned tourists: buy a Silver Day Card for 20 AED. It entitles you to unlimited rides on the metro, water streetcars and buses throughout the day.
