Public transportation in Ukraine is well developed. Three cities, Kyiv, Kharkiv and Dnipro, have subways. The cost of the subway in Kyiv is 4 UAH. There are shuttle buses, buses, streetcars and trolleybuses within big cities. The cost of such internal transportation is from 3 to 6 UAH. There is a city train in Kyiv. Many people use cabs; an average route in the capital of Ukraine costs around 30-70 UAH.
Electric trains and trains run between cities. In general, you can get anywhere with the cheaper electric trains, especially if there are no time constraints. But, of course, it is better to use high-speed trains. Now there are high-speed electric trains running between the largest cities of the country, with ticket prices about twice as high as usual.
But from Kyiv to Lviv, for example, you can get there in 6 hours, while a regular train takes at least 8 hours. However, you will have to sit, as there are no seats or compartments in such cars. On average, the price for a ticket for a regular train varies around 100-300 UAH for an opportunity to get, for example, from Kiev to Kharkov or from Kyiv to Lvov. Whereas a high-speed electric train will cost 400-600 UAH.
There are airlines within the country, with the help of which, for example, you can fly from Kyiv to Odessa, Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, Uzhgorod or Kharkiv. The flight time will be quite short, an hour or a little more. The cost of tickets for such flights is about twice as much as the price for a compartment or a suite, you can buy tickets for domestic flights for 1000 UAH and more. Many people choose this way of traveling.
However, it is cheaper and more convenient to travel by train, especially if you order tickets in advance.
