It is absolutely unthinkable to list all the sights of Atlanta with names and give each at least a small description. We've prepared for you a modest list of Atlanta's top attractions.
So, be sure to visit:
Olympic Centennial Park
If you ask any of the locals to show you Atlanta landmarks, this park, dedicated to the 1996 games the city hosted, will probably be among the first to appear. There aren't many facilities left, though: some have been dismantled, some have gone to other cities and states. Still, there's plenty more to see here!
So, all of the paths are extensions of city roads, the musical Olympic fountain is still in operation, and you can have your or someone else's name embossed on the bricks that line some of the paths for just $35 USD.
Margaret Mitchell Museum
Any map of Atlanta's landmarks will point you to this house museum, home to the creator of "Gone With the Wind," which won a Pulitzer Prize and was adapted into eight Academy Awards. Margaret Mitchell's home is located in central Atlanta.
Oakland Historic Cemetery
On the map of Atlanta in the section "Attractions, Photos" this cemetery appears on the first pages. It was laid out in the XIX century, and still there you can see unique pre-war buildings. Today this place looks more like a park than a pogost, so don't be frightened.
Coca-Cola Museum.
No Atlanta sightseeing map can ignore this place. And it's no wonder, because the world's favorite beverage was invented in Atlanta.
Well, and, of course, numerous museums count on your attention: art, historical, railroad, Civil War, botanical garden.
