The birthplace of American opera, jazz and Louis Armstrong welcomes you! New Orleans is one of the most colorful and noisy cities in the United States, with about 80 festivals held here every year. For many years it was considered the capital of the voodoo cult, where the famous priestess Marie Laveau lived and found her last shelter. It is believed that if you draw a cross on the wall of her crypt in St. Louis Cemetery and then knock on the door, your wish will come true. Would you dare to try it?
Worthy of your attention is the dumba bridge over Lake Pontchartrain. It is one of the longest in the world (almost 38.5 km), connects the cities of Mandeville and Metairie, located on opposite shores.
Make sure to take a ride on the streetcar! This is the pride of New Orleans, the cars built in 1923 are still running around the city. Such a ride is quite capable of replacing a sightseeing tour, and costs much cheaper.
One of the most original museums of the city is dedicated to the history of American cocktails. We also recommend visiting the New Orleans Museum of Art, which has a rich collection of works by European and American masters of different eras. The great Faberge's creations are considered to be the adornment of the exposition.
