The following are prohibited:
consuming alcohol in public places, as well as in the presence of children;
purchasing or consuming alcohol by persons under 21 years of age;
any form of racial discrimination;
actions that may be regarded as sexual harassment;
littering, including throwing trash beside bins or along the roadside.
Video cameras are installed everywhere, so even the smallest violation will be recorded and may lead to unpleasant consequences for tourists.
Since 2006, a curfew has been in effect in Washington for teenagers under 17: after 11:00 p.m., they are not allowed to be on the streets. This measure has significantly reduced crime levels, although the issues of drug trafficking and organized gangs remain quite serious.
