Vietnam vacations in June fall during the rainy season. It's not all-encompassing yet, so you'll still have time to find a dry spot. It's pointless to go to South Vietnam, where the classic tropical summer begins, with torrential rain and stifling heat and extreme humidity. In North Vietnam rains pour two weeks of the month out of four, and bathing here will hardly please you. But picking a dry day to see Halong Bay or Vietnam's capital, Hanoi, with its pagodas, is possible.
For a beach vacation in Vietnam in summer, go to the central provinces. In Danang, Hue and Phan Thiet, temperatures are around +30°C and it's not raining yet. This gives you plenty of time to swim, scuba dive or sail around the coastal waters of the South China Sea.
On a tour to Vietnam in June, you can catch Children's Day on the first day and Vietnamese Family Day on the 28th. Summer Solstice Day and Mid-Year Festival don't have clear dates, so it's worth finding out in advance when the Vietnamese celebrate them this year.
