For inter-island travel, ferries and boats are common, with many hotels offering their own shuttle boats and cars. However, air travel is the most advanced mode of transportation in Fiji. Numerous airports across the islands facilitate easy connections between the inhabited islands of the archipelago.
Air Transportation

Additionally, there are private airlines, some operating single-cab planes, available for charter to any destination in Fiji with an airfield.
Water Transportation
Inter-island boat services are a popular means of transportation in Fiji. Ferry services, such as the one between Vanua Levu and Taveuni, are available for shorter distances. Most hotels provide their own boats for excursions and other tourist activities. For those with a boating license, renting a boat for personal exploration of the islands is also an option.
Intercity Buses
On Viti Levu, intercity buses provide connections between Suva, Nadi, and other towns. In Vanua Levu, a shuttle bus service links Labasa with Savusavu.
City Transportation
In the cities of Suva, Nadi, and others on Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, city buses offer comfortable and timely services. A single bus ride costs 0.9 FJD.
Taxis are readily available in these cities as well. They can be hailed directly from the street or booked through hotels. The initial fare is around 3 FJD, with an additional charge of about 1 FJD per kilometer as indicated by the meter.
