Festivals.

March is International Grandmothers' Day and Francophone Day.

May - Snail Carnival on May 1, the Cannes Film Festival, held annually in Cannes in late May, and European Night of Museums, the Day of Remembrance of France's heavenly patroness Joan of Arc on May 30.

June - Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, in the last full week of June.

July - Avignon Theater Festival, the Festival of the Middle Ages in Carcassonne, the International Jazz Festival in Joan-les-Pins and the Colmar Music Festival

September - International Puppet Theater Festival in Charleville.

October - Reading Festival on October 16 and Chestnut Festival, which falls in the second half of the month, as well as gastronomic celebrations of shukrut, cider, spices and fish.

November - the Antiques Salon in Toulouse, the Salon de la Chocolat in Paris and the Christmas lights ceremony on the Champs-Elysees at the end of the month.
