When visiting Honfleur for the first time, we strongly recommend that you contact the city's tourist office, located on Quai Lepaulmier. They will be able to help you choose the most interesting route around Honfleur and provide you with information on accommodation, museum opening times and events.
You can buy tickets for events and museums in the city, as well as brochures and souvenirs. The tourist office's website can be found at http://www.ot-honfleur.fr/.
The main tourist route in Honfleur starts from the old harbor, runs along the Quai Saint Catherine and ends in the historic city center at the famous wooden church.
If you're interested in painting, you can create a specific walking route related to the work of the Honfleur school of painting. This would include the museum of the school's founder, Eugène Boudin, as well as the famous Saint-Simeon inn on Grasse Hill, where Boudin's pupils and the artists who came here to paint often gathered.
Now the Ferme Saint Simeon hotel has been built on the site of the inn. In the hotel lobby, framed works by Claude Monet, Eugène Boudin and their letters are on display. Throughout this route you can visit art galleries and even buy works by contemporary French artists.
